It’s a quiet day here, but I’m thankful for that. π We had my mom and her husband Jimmy over for dinner last night. It was fun, but a lot of work. I spent the last 2 days cleaning and readying for it. So I’m ready for quiet. We had some yummy chicken enchiladas (with my homemade guacamole), yellow rice, corn on the cob and homemade apple pie for dessert. My chicken enchiladas are a take-off of Robin Miller’s. Super easy to make and everyone loves them.
I have bunches of stuff to do and no motivation to do them. I need to get my CTMH newsletter out with all the special deals in it. I also *need* to create something. Soon. I start getting frustrated very easily when I can’t play with paper. LOL! I got a new Bo-Bunny board book kit and I may just attack that. It would be easy and mindless. But still creating.
I’ve recently been asked to take over the presidency of our women’s group at church and our next meeting is Monday night. I need to get that planned. We’re doing Christmas stuff and I need to get my ducks in a row soon. I’m not a last minute kind of person.
Speaking of ducks in a row…my little duck scatterer (Emma Lemma) is sleeping peacefully. Thank the Lord. I love her dearly, but she and I clash a lot. π Tim finds it hysterical after years of him and Jared butting heads. I find it frustrating. But I know she’s only 3 and this too shall pass. When I look at J, I just can’t fathom that he’s 11! And nearly as tall as I am. Took him to the doc last week for his checkup. Almost 100 lbs and 5′ 1/4". (That 1/4" is important – makes him taller than his Memaw.) I talked to Gus (our doc) about J being tired so much. I don’t know if it’s just a growth spurt, his body readying for the teen years, or something else. Gus did a quick blood work-up on him (his first ever – he was so brave!). We got the results back Friday. His iron is in normal range, but definitely low. (Normal is 10-105, his is 19). So he’s now on iron supplements, per Gus’ recommendation. He’s doing great taking them, but I haven’t seen any difference in his energy levels. He has a re-check in Jan. to see if the supplements are working.
We have church this evening. I’m now just a participant in our class, thank goodness. One of my good friends, Rachel, agreed to teach. So I can’t wait to go and enjoy tonight. π
