My favorite B-day was when my husband took me to see The Music Man musical at WCU. He’s so thoughtful… It was a great memory even though I ruined his surprise. We had watched and enjoyed The Music Man together on DVD a couple of years earlier because I had been practicing “Til There was You” for my college singing class. Out of the blue one day he asked me how much I had liked it. I answered him, but didn’t think much about it. Some days later, I was surfing the WCU site and thought “what a coincidence, Randy just asked me about The Music Man, and WCU is putting on this musical” (I never put two and two together!). Needless to say, he was pretty bummed that I ruined his surprise. But we had a wonderful time anyway!
my favorite birthday memory was my 12th……..i got my first horse that day!
please throw my name in the hate for the stamp set! good luck all!
Wow, a few years ago, we had a particularly challenging holiday season and we were feeling low. My birthday falls between Christmas and New Year’s eve. My husband woke me up at 4 a.m. to show me that snow was blanketing the ground. This was remarkable because we live in Las Vegas . That beautiful sight helped us overcome the dark days that were to come.
I hope you had a wonderful birthday! Birthdays are to have fun, reminisce and cherish.
Sometimes as adults we forget the joy that can come from a birthday. A few years ago I decided I wasn’t going to celebrate any more birthdays. It was “just another day”, I told myself. “Too much stress for my husband and children to do each year.” I guess I was just tired of the “Well, what do you want?” on the day of my birthday. So I told my husband, all I’d like is a quiet, peaceful evening with no stress, running here and there.
Guess what happened?……
My wonderful husband and children sent me off on an adventure to find something for myself. While I was gone, my sweet hubby and the children turned my room into a lovely island retreat. There were palm trees swaying, waves crashing, and even a cool tropical drink for me to sip on. It was wonderful that they had taken such thought and care into providing a wonderful, relaxing evening for their “old, tired” mother.
Thanks for your wonderful blog. I can’t wait to see your next creation or thought.
Hi Candy,
what a friend I am… forgot your birthday. Not very good. I did get to wish you a belated tonight though.
Hope it was good.
One memorable birthday was several years ago when Mark, the girls and I took a trip to Pigeon Forge and stayed in a GORGEOUS cabin in the Mountains. Kamryn was just a couple of months old. We had a great time. We ate at a Steak house (can’t remember the name) and afterwards we were leaving and there was a man laying on the sidewalk near our car. Mark had all of us get in the car and then he went and checked on him. He was drunk. So Mark tried to help him up and he didn’t want help. Mark went in and told the manager that there was a man who needed help. We left. The girls were very bothered by the man laying on the sidewalk. So for a long time they talked about the “dead man” on my birthday.
Hope I win. I would LOVE to have some new stamps.. Haven’t played with stamps in a while.
Love ya girly.
Happy Birthday, Girly!!
I knew it was yesterday and got so caught up in ‘life’ that I didn’t get a chance to send birthday wishes. I am sorry to be late with this….but I was thinking about you off and on all day. Glad it was a happy day. π
I’d have to say my funniest/most surprised birthday was just this year. π Remember? π Wearing that sombrero!! π π I am so glad you were there to share it with me.
Hugs!! Nanette
Aw that was a cute comment from your hubby π I am a CTMH rep and just signed up in October. Hmmm… I’d have to say my favorite birthday memory was not even my own sad to say LOL. I was deployed when I was in the Navy and two of my daughters have a birthday that is 2 days apart. The year I was in Puerto Rico, I was able to fly home and spend their birthday with them while on leave. The oldes was turning 3 and the youngest was turning 1, so it was very special for me to get to spend time with them. My birthdays have always been great since having my kids :). I get woken up with homemade presents and they are better than anything you find in a store.
I hope your birthday was just as special!
Have a great day π
Happy Birthday, birthday twin! I love your blog and am a Close to My Heart rep with a November 19th birthday, as well! I do believe your husband should win this for that fabulous comment he just made about you….
I thought I would tell you an amusing story. When I was 16 years old, my parents, brother and two of my girlfriends and I went out to a Mexican dinner. During that dinner, my Dad made a fuss about the fact that it was my birthday. So, a bunch of the waiters came over and asked me my name. They called me Gill. They then put a sombrero on my head that some sweaty waiter had been wearing all day…it was VERY sweaty..ewwwwww!! Ah…the memories of embarrassing birthday sing a longs at our favorite restaurants. π I hope you had a wonderful birthday!!!
Oooo Pick Me, Pick Me. π My favorite birthday memory is simply that I get to spend all of my birthdays celebrating together with the one I love.
